Head Chef - Back from holidays (weighing 2 kilos more!)

Hi there,

Just home from a trip to Switzerland and to the North of Germany. I was blessed to be able to enjoy a few visits to eateries of all calibres, from a simple pizzeria up to top class restaurants. a summary - on average I feel that the food is prepared with more love and attention to details than here in the UK. OK I had a restaurant where I left the food on the plate but that was only once.

Another thing I noticed was that the all restaurants made my kids (energetic twins!) very welcome and even if a glass broke and cutlery ended up on the floor then they didn't batter an eyelid - I was impressed with this and wondered if it would be the same here? I must say that in my experience in the UK they wouldn't have been treated in the same way - perhaps you disagree?

The trip has given me new inspiration and motivation to start working on more ready to serve every day dishes like Cannelloni or Meat Balls in different sauces. I also recognised a trend back to the simple things with clear flavour directions.

However, it was fun to eat (and of course drink!) and as a result I am at least two kilos heavier - at least they didn't charge me for it at the airport!

Keep an eye out for these new dishes and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards
Stefan

Miscellaneous - London Scottish Trip

On Saturday, Liz and I from our Marketing department made a trip to the London Scottish vs Newbury rugby match at the Richmond Community Stadium, London. The trip was made not just because of the Scottish connection but because we have recently started to sponsor London Scottish team.

We arrived there and were given the opportunity to meet some of the club patrons before sitting down to lunch with representatives of both clubs. There was a choice of pork or chicken but understandably we wanted pork AND chicken, both got the thumbs up.

There was genuine interest in the room about Donald Russell and what we do, so there were lots of questions to answer a lot of people took a catalogue home so they could read more about us. Many people had never heard of us but many had, we even met Donald Russell's biggest fan who was the father of one of the London Scottish players.

It was a great trip for us and great opportunity for us to share what we do with new people. We met some very nice people there and we were made to feel extremely welcome so once again we would like to thank the people at the London Scottish.

Oh by the way London Scottish won the match 41-20 so well done to the team and good luck with the end of the season!

Sean
